Wonderwhy And Knowall--Fish and The Rock
Wonderwhy is a 6 years old girl. She has a invisible friend fairy her name is Knowall. Whenever Wonderwhy thinks why about any thing. Then her friend Knowall appears and solve all Wonderwhy’s questions.
Today what is bothering her, what she is wondering about lets see.
“Cutiecurious Cutiecurious…..give me my small rock. Don’t play with this it is from my collections of rock.” Wonderwhy was telling her little sister as they were playing in a garden that has small pond with so many beautiful and colorful fishes floating in it.
“Big sister I like your this rock very much I will play for some more time and then I will return you back” Cutiecurious replied.
Wonderwhy agreed and she allowed her little sister to play for some more time with her one of the rock from her collection.
Cutiecurious was a little girl she didn’t know what will happen if she will drop small rock in water. She dropped the rock in water and rock sank to the bottom. Cutiecurious waited for rock to come up like fishes were doing but it didn’t happen.
“Big sister big sister small rock is not coming up” Cutiecurious told Wonderwhy who was jumping rope at other side.
“What do you mean? Can you be little loud I cannot hear you properly or wait I will come near you”. Wondewhy said as she was approaching her little sister.
“Big sister all these fishes are going down to the bottom of the pond and they are coming at top again. But the small rock that I dropped is not coming back at the top. I waited, waited and waited but its not coming up” Cutiecurious said.
“oh Cutiecurious what you did ? its not your fault you didn’t know that rock will not come up like fishes because rocks does not float on water.” Wonderwhy said in very low voice as she was feeling little said.
Suddenly one question popped in her mind.
“How does fish float in water and why did rock sank ? .”
As we all know kids,whenever some question pop into Wonderwhy’s mind her fairy friend Knowall appears to solve the question.
“Hey Wonderwhy why are you looking so sad ?” fairy knowall asked.
“fairy friend I am wondering how these fishes float on water and rock sinks in water? I am little sad because my favorite rock sank in water. My little sister didn’t know it will sink and she droped it” Wonderwhy replied.
Fairy Knowall said. “Don’t worry be happy, I will rotate my magic wand and your rock will come up” .she did and wonderwhy’s rock was in her hand.
“Thank you very much my fairy friend. But still you need to solve my question” Wonderwhy said.
“oh yes I will I am always there to solve your questions, lets start with some basic understandings” fairy knowall said.
Fairy continued, “okay tell me What makes something float in water?”
“Air makes something float in water as air is lighter than water.” Wonderwhy replied.
Fairy knowall was so impressed after listening correct answer from Wonderwhy.
She said “absolutely right and I am so impressed with you”.
She continued “A fish uses this knowledge by having an air filled space in its body that makes it lighter than water so it can float.This force of air is known as Buoyancy that causes objects to float in a liquid or to rise in gas or air A fish however does not always want to remain at the top of the water where it would be easy prey for wild animals or pet cats. Thus, fish need to be able to control the swim bladder to make changes in their swimming level. If it wants to go deeper, it releases gas. If the fish wants to float higher it takes more gas into the swim bladder.”
“Well rock does not have any swim bladder so that it can inhale gas to float in the water, that is why it sank at the bottom.”
“Got it Wonderwhy? Got your answer” fairy Knowall asked.
“Yes fairy friend I got it and I hope my little sister will also understand it when I will tell her and from next time she will not wait for rock to come up like fishes do.” Wonderwhy replied.
And both of them laughed aloud. Hahahahahahahaha…….
